This new set was released this weekend. They are the constellations and more will follow as Holly already has the artwork for several more sets like this one.
DONE TWO WAYS...
These designs have been digitized two ways. First, as you see them in the picture below as "all embroidery". And second, where the stars are located Holly has replaced each star with a small circle about 2.5mm in diameter. The circle is used for placement markings for those who want to replace the embroidered stars with crystals instead.
If you have never used crystals before, they are very easy to use and create stunning results. Your crystals should be slightly larger than the placement circle so that they entirely cover the thread. In this case, that would mean 3.5mm or 4mm crystals.
You apply the crystals with a heat tool that looks like is pen-shaped and holds the crystal in place with a cup-shaped tip. Heat the tool up, push it down onto the crystal to pick it up, then place it onto the fabric. The heat melts the glue that comes on the back of the crystal. You insert a pin into a slot near the tip of the heat pencil and use the pin to hold the crystal down while you remove the heat pen from it.
The melted glus bonds wih the fabric attaching it permenently. It REALLY grabs onto the fabric so be sure you put it in the right place to start with!
A picture is worth a thousand words right? So a video must be worth a million words! In that case, you'll like this next part. During the month of May, we will be showing the video "How To Use Crystals" inside the ATW website to members for free. Look for the video on the home page starting Sunday May 1st.
